On the afternoon of Wednesday, September 13th, our care home hosted a wonderful “MiTo per la città” event in the fifth-floor lounge. The Fitzenhagen Quartet—comprising talented young cellists and Conservatory students—performed for a large, attentive audience of residents and their relatives. The concert featured works originally written for cello or string quartets, all transcribed for an all-cello ensemble. The program included pieces by Elgar, Debussy, Bach, Zigante, and Fitzenhagen—the 19th-century German cellist and composer after whom the group is named. The young musicians received enthusiastic applause.
Dario Disegni, President of the Community, also spoke, thanking the members of the quartet, the organizers of “MiTo per la città,” and the City of Turin—one of the festival’s sponsors—for the wonderful initiative.
