Where and by whom is Hebrew spoken today? Are Biblical Hebrew and Israeli Hebrew the same language?
Designed primarily for those approaching Hebrew studies for the first time, this volume offers an introduction to the history and grammar of this language: from its diffusion to its role in the creation of the State of Israel, and its main characteristics (script, phonology, morphosyntax). It concludes with a brief account of current sociolinguistic dynamics.
The author, Sara Ferrari, teaches Hebrew Language and Culture at several academic institutions, including the University of Milan. Moderator: Marco Rolando.
