The story of a little girl and her large family during the storm of the Holocaust.

The book’s protagonist, Lucette Brytenyszok, will be present. The author will be in conversation with her nephew Alessandro Pan and Sara Levi Sacerdotti, from the Jewish community.
The event will be hosted by publisher Silvia Maria Ramasso.

After decades of silence, elderly Lucette Bryteynszok recalls the tragic past of her Jewish family, the Goldbergs, who fled Poland to France in 1923 to seek freedom. Despite their integration in Nancy, the arrival of Nazism unleashed relentless persecution. To survive, little Lucette was hidden in Verpel, in the Ardennes, where she and her brother managed to escape under a false identity. The story intertwines childhood memories and the pain of immense loss: seventeen members of her family were deported to Auschwitz, never to return.
