Lag Ba’Omer is a Jewish religious holiday between Passover and Shavuot, the 33rd day of the Omer.
According to tradition, it also commemorates the birth and death of Rabbi Shim’on bar Yochai.
One may cut one’s hair, shave one’s head, and, according to some customs, celebrate weddings. Tachanun is not said.
It is customary to study the Zohar, go on excursions, and light open fires.
