The Union of Italian Jewish Communities is organizing a conference to mark the second anniversary of the pogrom of October 7, 2023, and the start of the war in Gaza. We believe that in these two years, the dullness of history has replaced complexity, the superficiality of in-depth analysis, the invective of reasoning, and the plausibility of truth. The very existence of the Jewish state is being questioned in the streets, on campuses, and in the media; Zionism has become synonymous with colonialism, Israel with genocide. The conference will be held in Rome on Sunday, October 12, 2025, and its primary objective is to reflect on, discuss, and challenge a now widespread paradigm that justifies terrorism and attributes all evil to the democratic part of the Middle East alone.
