The Secretariat for Ecumenical Activities is organizing the 62nd Ecumenical Formation Session, scheduled for July 26 to August 1, 2026, at the Guesthouse of the Camaldoli Monastery.
The 2026 edition will be dedicated to the theme: “Churches in Secularization: An Ecumenical Perspective.”
The initiative brings together theologians, scholars, and representatives of various Christian denominations and interreligious dialogue to reflect on the relationship between faith, contemporary society, and cultural transformations.
The week includes:
meetings and conferences,
thematic workshops,
moments of prayer and ecumenical celebrations,
activities for young people, children, and families,
spaces for discussion between Christian, Jewish, and Islamic traditions.
Topics addressed included:
secularization and the life of the Church,
ecumenical and interreligious dialogue,
family and social change,
anti-Semitism and Islamophobia,
new forms of religion in the contemporary world,
pastoral creativity and the future of Christian communities.
For over sixty years, the SAE Session has represented one of the main Italian events dedicated to ecumenism and dialogue between cultures and religions.

Antisemitism and Islamophobia, with Gadi Luzzatto Voghera, director of CDEC – Center for Contemporary Jewish Documentation – and Yahya Sergio Yahe Pallavicini, Vice President of COREIS – Italian Islamic Religious Community.
