Holocaust Remembrance Day 2026 – The program in Borgo San Dalmazzo

On the occasion of Holocaust Remembrance Day 2026, the Municipality of Borgo San Dalmazzo – Department of Culture – is proposing a calendar of initiatives dedicated to the remembrance of the Holocaust and historical reflection, in collaboration with MEMO4345, ANED, and local schools.

On Saturday, January 24th, at the Civic Auditorium, starting at 8:00 PM, an exhibition of wartime prints by journalists and illustrators will be open. At 9:00 PM, the Concert of Remembrance will take place with Natalya Chesnova and Nicola Portonato, a musical journey through the life of European Jewish communities and the deportations. Admission is free, subject to availability.

On Sunday, January 25, at 4:00 PM, a Holy Mass will be celebrated in the Church of Santa Croce in remembrance of the deportees. This will be followed at 4:45 PM in the ASL Cn1 Hall by “Walking in History,” a reflection by students of the S. Grandis Institute.
At 5:45 PM, the March of the Candles will begin, commemorating the deportation of 357 Jews from Borgo San Dalmazzo between 1943 and 1944 to Auschwitz, with the placing of candles at the MEMO4345 Memorial. The official speech will be delivered by Military Prosecutor General Marco De Paolis.

On January 27th and February 15th, MEMO4345 will be open free of charge from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with screenings dedicated to deported families.
The “Anna Frank” Civic Library hosts the thematic space “Voices from the Shoah.”
