The vandalization of the eight stumbling stones placed last February in Piazza Santa Giulia in memory of the elderly residents of the Jewish Hospice who were deported and murdered upon arrival at Auschwitz is a cowardly and despicable act of exceptional gravity.
The Jewish Community has long denounced the exponential growth of increasingly widespread and aggressive anti-Semitism in a climate of hatred and intolerance that cannot fail to be deeply concerning.
The institutions and civil society are called upon to react firmly to this trend, which undermines the foundations of civil coexistence among all citizens of the Republic.
Dario Disegni, President of the Jewish Community of Turin
The photo of the vandalized stones is by Luca Deri, President of the 7th District of the City of Turin.
On Monday, May 4, 2026, a demonstration was organized in Piazza Santa Giulia, and many authorities attended. All the speeches are shown in the video.
