Following the completion of renovations at the Social Center, our Community’s Artom Library will reopen on November 9th with an important update: it will now be able to offer extended opening hours—every Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The Artom Library of our Community, at the end of the works at the Social Centre, will reopen on November 9 with an important development, as from now on it will be able to remain open for longer hours: every Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00 (except, of course, for closures on days coinciding with Jewish or national holidays), thereby addressing a keenly felt need expressed by its users.
This has been made possible for two concurrent reasons. Firstly, the call for applications issued by the Community Council to find a professional librarian was successful, and the Library will henceforth be able to benefit from the contribution of Dr. Roberta Campanaro who holds the qualification of Library Services Technician. Secondly, because some members of the community have expressed a willingness to get involved in essential volunteer work.
All of this makes it possible to look with renewed confidence at the Community’s ability to ensure the continuity of this essential service over time.

With the passing of Aldo Liscia (z.l.), the Jewish Community of Turin has lost its distinguished elder—a man of exceptional moral and intellectual stature. Until shortly before his passing, he was a near-weekly presence at the synagogue (Beth Ha-Keneseth) for Shabbat services, and he frequently attended cultural events at the Community Center. On October 27, 2026, my father, Aldo Liscia, passed away in Turin. He was 105 years old. It is difficult to explain what it means to lose a father when you are nearly seventy-nine yourself. I was fortunate enough to have him by my side throughout my childhood, youth, adulthood, and finally, in my later years. By Roberto Liscia.
