Once again this year, ADEI WIZO contributed to the European Day of Jewish Culture—now in its 27th edition—which was dedicated to the theme of Love. This topic fully reflects our association’s core values: love for Israel, for family, and for our roots, alongside a passion for passing on Jewish culture, traditions, and cuisine.
An ADEI area was set up in the Community Center during the day. There, specifically to explore the theme of marital and family love, an interesting exhibition on Jewish weddings—curated by the Terracini Archive—was displayed, and at our stand, visitors could pick up a catalog from a previous exhibition dedicated to the same subject.
Throughout the day, following the guided tours, visitors could enjoy a refreshment corner serving sweets and coffee. In anticipation of the upcoming holidays, traditional honey-dipped apples were offered, alongside cookies and small challahs baked especially by our members. The stall also sold books on Jewish themes, sweets, and matzah, as well as Mondovì-style dishes commissioned specifically for us. A much-appreciated gift was the small bags of wheat given to attendees, accompanied by instructions on how to sprout them at home as a wish for prosperity in the new year.
It was a pleasant, informal, and warm occasion for conversation with a relaxed and attentive audience. In a serene atmosphere, we discussed everything—stories, celebrations, traditions, and recipes—recalling how the love and care for traditional foods have always been the beating heart of our families.
