The exhibition is born from the encounter between two photographic collections of great historical and cultural value: the Hungarian Ernő Munkácsi Collection, a collection of images of Jewish Italy produced and collected between 1927 and 1940, and the F.A.C.E. Collection, a photographic and documentary archive of the Federation of Jewish Cultural Associations from the 1920s and 1930s. Through images, documents, and correspondence, “Viaggio in Italia” offers a reflection on Italy’s Jewish cultural heritage as an integral part of the nation’s history and its urban, civic, and symbolic landscape.
