14th edition of Wednesday Islamic Wisdom
Myth, as found in various traditions, can be understood as a symbolic reality that, through metaphorical narration, facilitates access to higher knowledge.
In contemporary language, myth has come to mean something unattainable or exclusive to a select group of few people.
Eternal youth, according to mythological and religious stories, represents the quest for an ever-accessible renewal of the spirit, while for contemporary society it seems to take on the opposite meaning, the crystallization of external form.
The meaning given to reality also influences people’s behavior. The following discuss this issue:
DON GIUSEPPE ZEPPEGNO, Theological Faculty of Northern Italy
KHADIJAH TAGLIABUE, Cosmetics company representative
STEFANO TALLIA, President Order of Journalists of Piedmont
SONIA BRUNETTI LUZZATI, Jewish Community of Turin
IMAM YAHYA PALLAVICINI, Moschea al-Wahid of Milan
Moderator
ZAHIRA MUSSO, COREIS – Italian Islamic Religious Community
The “Wednesday of Islamic Wisdom” initiative is held under the patronage of the Piedmont Region, the Municipality of Turin, and the Piedmont Order of Journalists. It is promoted by the ISA Academy ETS, in collaboration with the Italian Islamic Religious Community (COREIS) and thanks to the sponsorship of the Halal Italia certification body.
