On the occasion of the exhibition “Journey to Italy. Discovering Jewish Cultural Heritage” the MEIS is offering a series of free events, “Shots of History” in its bookshop (Via Piangipane 81, Ferrara): lectures dedicated to the great masters of photography who, through their lenses, have captured crucial moments in Italian and international history and social change.
On November 27th at 5:30 pm, we will rediscover the fascinating story of Ghitta Carell, the most famous and sought-after portraitist among politicians, intellectuals, and members of high society in 1930s Italy. It is presented by Roberto Dulio, curator of the exhibition “Ghitta Carell. Portraits of the Twentieth Century” hosted at Villa Necchi Campiglio (Milan).
Reservations are strongly recommended by calling +39 342 5476621 (open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm) or by emailing eventi.meis@orologionetwork.it.
