  • Comunità Evangelica Luterana,

Lutheran members of the Evangelical Lutheran Community have requested the return of themed evenings—events focused on sharing information or personal narratives, while incorporating the German language wherever appropriate.
This autumn offers the perfect opportunity to combine these elements and launch a new series of such evenings. The guiding theme is inspired by a famous line from Fabrizio De André: “From the manure, flowers bloom.”
The initiative begins with a subject that is anything but simple.
Both in Italy and in Germany, the number of survivors—those who witnessed firsthand the events of the Nazi-Fascist era—is dwindling year by year; before long, they will no longer be able to share their personal experiences with us.
Today, more than ever, it is essential to foster a second and third generation of “indirect” witnesses—individuals who will actively engage in processing this history. Rather than suppressing the past, they must confront the atrocities committed and endured, learn the necessary lessons, and work together to find a path toward reconciliation.
