Two years after the horrendous massacre of October 7, the Netanyahu government’s furious response, and the start of the war in Gaza, the killing of thousands of Palestinian civilians, and the outbreak of a dramatic humanitarian crisis, the Middle East remains in chaos, even though a light is beginning to appear at the end of the tunnel. Hamas’s announcement that it will free the Israeli hostages has given renewed impetus to talks on a truce and the future of Gaza. However, Hamas’s decision to abuse the Israeli population with the goal of creating a Palestine “from the river to the sea” altogether distances the two-state solution, one Israeli and one Palestinian, living side by side in security.
Presentation of the book “The New Middle East. The Decline of the Shiite Crescent” (Belforte Editori) by Giovan Battista Brunori.
The author will be in conversation with Alberto Nigra and Tullio Monti.
