When Play Becomes History. Historical Games and History Teaching
Summer School for Teachers – 3rd Edition

codice Sofia 104683

Istoreto, following the success of the previous two editions, is once again promoting a Summer School to introduce structured games and playful processes into the teaching and learning of history and citizenship education.
Aimed at schools, this edition is part of the Polo del ‘900’s integrated project entitled “Twentieth Century: Stories of Transitions and Rights,” which focuses on Historical Games and the teaching of history, focusing on the transition from dictatorship to democracy through the Constituent Assembly and the promulgation of the Constitution.
The Summer School adopts an experimental and discussion-based approach. Workshops for different school levels offer different playful models: role-playing games, simulations, games based on source analysis and/or participatory decision-making, path games, and Urban Games.
This year’s Summer School partners are: the Ferruccio Parri National Institute, the Center for the Study of Games and Play, LudoLabo, and the National Museum of the Risorgimento in Turin, under the patronage of the AIPH (Italian Association of Public History).
